I have a BA (Hons) Degree in Integrative Counselling from Waverley Abbey College, ratified by Roehampton University.
I go to monthly Supervision with a highly trained, experienced Counsellor to talk about my work within confidential boundaries. I also undertake continued professional development (CPD) I am currently carrying out research into trauma and the long term effects of trauma on everyday life. My other area of interest is the use of dogs in therapy and I hope to soon be able to offer therapy using my dog, a Border Terrier called Monty.
If you find talking about your emotions difficult I have several ways to aid communication including writing, drawing and using toys. I am registered with the Information Commissioners Office and have a Privacy Statement which clearly sets out how I treat your information and how I keep my records. I hold Professional Indemnity Insurance
I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and am bound by their Code of Ethics. I am also a member of the Association of Christian Counsellors. Membership of these associations means that you have organisations you can
turn to should you have concerns about the service that I give. I believe it is important for your wellbeing that I am accountable to other professionals.
I work from my home in comfortable, informal surroundings. There is
unrestricted on-road parking next to my house. Local buses stop approximately
five minutes’ walk away. Bus 455 to Singlewell Road, Ridgeway Avenue stop.
