Counselling
WHAT IS COUNSELLING?
Counselling is a process that gives you the opportunity to explore feelings, thoughts and experiences that are causing distress or that you are finding difficult to understand or make sense of. Counselling can also give you the space to develop new, healthier ways of coping with some of the tough times that life brings along.
What are the benefits of Counselling?
how I approach counselling
- Better understanding of emotions
- Improved emotional health
- Improved physical health
- Increased confidence and self-esteem
- Improved communication skills
- Improved ability to cope in challenging/difficult situations
I am an Integrative counsellor which means that I use a variety of counselling approaches dependant on your needs and what you want to achieve in the counselling process. Throughout the process you decide what you want to talk about and the pace you want to go. I will listen to you and help you to express and understand your emotions. Sometimes I use writing, drawing and toys to help you express difficult emotions.
WHAT COUNSELLING IS NOT
Counselling is not about the Counsellor giving advice, trying to change your mind, make you think in a certain way or taking away your problems.
